...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING... .Copious amounts of tropical moisture from Tropical Depression Imelda will move across the region through Thursday. Bands around the system will produce prolonged periods of heavy rain which may quickly overwhelm drainage systems, especially in urban areas. ...FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING... The Flash Flood Watch continues for * Portions of Louisiana and southeast Texas, including the following areas, in Louisiana, Beauregard, Calcasieu, East Cameron, Vernon, and West Cameron. In southeast Texas, Hardin, Jefferson, Northern Jasper, Northern Newton, Orange, Southern Jasper, Southern Newton, and Tyler. * Through Thursday evening * 2 to 6 inches of rainfall in far Southwest Louisiana with isolated higher amounts. 5 to 10 inches of rain is forecast for Southeast Texas, with 12 inches or more possible in isolated locations. * Heavy rainfall in a short period of time may overwhelm drainage systems causing flooding of streets and low lying areas.
