At a pep rally before Gueydan's Thursday night showdown with Oberlin, Principal Nadine Lepretre took some time to recognize some of the Bears' excellence away from the gridiron and in the classroom.
Mr. Tim LeBlanc - Coach Tim to his students - has been a beloved member of the faculty at GHS for over 30 years and part of the Gueydan community for his whole life. On Thursday, he was named the 2023 Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Nadine made the announcement to thunderous applause from faculty and students alike, and she made note of Coach Tim's many invaluable contributions to our school. Congratulations Coach Tim!
Mrs. Nadine announces that Coach Kevin Kern was voted as High School Teacher of the Quarter for the 2nd Nine Weeks by 9-12th graders at GHS.
Coach Bradley Butler was chosen as the Middle School Teacher of the Quarter by 6-8th Graders for the 2nd Nine Weeks.
Ms. Crystal Patin was chosen as both the Gueydan High School AND Vermilion Parish New Teacher of the Year. Congratulations Ms. Crystal!
8th Graders Isabella Stutes, Adelynn Turner, Ava Elliott, and Ronnie Mouton were all nominated by their teachers as Student of the Year. These students will go through an interview process to determine who will be named the GHS Middle School Student of the Year to represent our school at the parish level.
Seniors Micah Marceaux, Shelly Robicheaux, Gracie Guidry, and Emily Lacomb were nominated by their teachers as Student of the Year. These students will go through an interview process to determine who will be named the GHS High School Student of the Year to represent our school at the parish level.
