Gueydan High School

Thank you to the Gueydan community for coming together and supporting our inaugural Spring Market! It was a beautiful day filled with fun and fellowship, and it means the world to our students, teachers, and school that we got to share it with you. Special thanks to Mrs. Cynthia Wirtz, Mrs. Rena Bertrand, the GHS FCCLA Club, and the GHS FFA Club and Ag Department for putting the event together, and for all our vendors who participated. See you next spring!

Registration is now open for 2026 VPSS Summer Meal Boxes. All children, ages 0-18, are eligible to receive boxes, whether they are a student at a Vermilion Parish school or not.

FACS I students practiced their knife and cutting skills for the first time! They made fresh guacamole and salsa and did a phenomenal job! They definitely enjoyed tasting it afterwards also.

If you signed up for trees from Neighborhood Forest in March, they have arrived and are ready for pick up! They are Laurel Oaks, and they're going to be beautiful!

Congratulations to all our student athletes who competed at last night's Middle and High School Parish Track Meets. Special shout out to Braylon Mercier, who placed 1st in the 300m hurdles, 2nd in the 100m dash, and 3rd in the 200m dash!

Order pickup for our Little Caesar's Pizza fundraiser will be tomorrow (Tuesday) at 1:30pm in the GHS Auditorium.

The Lache Pas students at Gueydan High School are hopping into spring break with some festive fun! 🐣🌸 Before heading out, students spent time dyeing and pâqueing Easter eggs, showing off their creativity teamwork. Wishing everyone a safe, relaxing, and joyful spring break!

This morning, Mr. Jeremy Benoit - known professionally as JB Saax - visited GHS and gave a presentation to our band members on the history of the saxophone, it's place in the art of jazz music, and his journey as a music producer and recording & performing artist.

Please get any Egg My Yard forms in ASAP so that we can ensure we have enough eggs. Orders can be turned in to the office, and all orders are due by this Thursday, April 2nd no later than 5:00pm.

STEM Olympics Camp Application Presented by UL Lafayette's Center for Excellence in Education & Region 4 STEM Network Center

UL Lafayette's Center for Excellence in Education and its Region 4 STEM Center are proud to present our fourth annual "STEM Olympics" camp as part of its STEMulating Summer Initiative 6.0 experience.

Rising 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students will compete in various science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) related activities. We have a series of amazing STEM activities including Stomp Rockets, Mousetrap Cars, Lunar Landing, Science Labs, and Robotics!

Camp Dates: June 1 - 5, 2026

This Week at GHS - March 30th through April 5th

This week, 7th grade students practiced making careful scientific observations by examining different chemical substances—using their senses (safely!), noting differences, and describing what they see in detail.

Our Honeybears continued their march to the playoffs this afternoon with a big 18-2 win over Opelousas High!
