Last night, GHS held their annual Open House so that teachers could connect with families in the community.
Afterward, Junior athletes, cheerleaders, and band members that have earned a letter in their respective activities were awarded Letterman Jackets to serve as a representation of their years of hard work and dedication. Congratulations to these outstanding young men and women!

The GHS cheerleaders, football team, and band rode in today's 50th annual Gueydan Duck Festival Grand Parade
All of Dr. Chrisanda Touchet's classes did some independent reading today, and they really stuck the landing on a great week of learning!

The 2026 Football Jamboree will be held next Thursday, August 27th at North Vermilion. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time in the front office for $10. 100% of the proceeds from tickets bought at GHS stay in Gueydan! Support our Bears!

Congratulations to our GHS Beta Club! Our club grew by 10%, we're proud to be named a 2025-2026 National Beta School of Distinction! #betaSOD
GHS will be hosting physicals for all sports on Tuesday August 4, from 2pm-4pm. The cost is $10 (cash or check).
UPDATE: Physicals will be for boys only. Another session will be scheduled for girls. Information will be made available as soon as possible.

Good luck to Braylon Lopez as he attends Louisiana Boys State this week at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond! Tabitha Cox is attending Louisiana Girls State this week, where she will represent GHS as young women from all over the state gather to develop their own cities, parishes, and governments! Thank you Fontenot Sisters for sponsoring Tabitha.
Orientation for the 2026-2027 school year will be held on Monday, August 3rd for 9-12th grade and Tuesday, August 4th for 6-8th grade. Please make every effort to attend so that we can hit the ground running!
